Meditation is a great way to overcome stress, promote health and well-being, and maintain a positive and relaxed attitude to life. Through following practical instructions, everyone can learn to meditate. These classes include guided meditations, practical advice, and positive thinking techniques for developing happiness and inner peace.
In this class we will explore the benefits of inner peace and the foundations of how to begin a meditation practice. It will be very experiential and perfect for someone who is just getting started; or for someone wishing to deepen their meditation practice. Inner peace is the source of our happiness — there can be no happiness without it. Other things external things, can only make us happy if our mind is peaceful. If our mind is disturbed or troubled in any way then we will never be happy, no matter how good our external conditions may be. We can all tap into Inner Peace using Meditation and the practical advice from Buddha’s teachings on love, patience and compassion.
Each class will include 2 guided meditations and a short talk on ways to reduce negative minds and increase peaceful and happy minds. No experience is necessary.
The classes will be taught by meditation teacher Dona Zeuli. Dona has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for over five year and is an active member of the Samudrabadra Kadampa Buddhist Center. She is the Education Program Coordinator for the center, is enrolled in the Foundation Program and has taught meditation classes in Fort Myers. Her sincere wish is that all living beings find true inner peace through meditation and the practical application of Buddha’s teachings.
