A regular practice of meditation can help to relieve feelings of depression, apathy, and anxiety. Learn some simple techniques for stilling the mind and focusing on positive thoughts. It all starts within! By discovering the origin of our bad feelings it will be easy to uproot it. These tried and tested techniques have worked for people for millennia, so why would we be any different?
This half-day workshop will include guided meditations and practical teachings on how to apply meditation to all our daily activities. It will be a perfect introduction to mindfulness meditation.
This workshop is suitable for everyone. It will be taught by Buddhist monk , Kelsang Chopag, and will contain two guided meditations. There will be time for questions and discussion.
About the Resident Teacher
Kelsang Chopag is the Resident Teacher of Samudrabadra Kadampa Buddhist Center in Fort Myers, Florida. He teaches meditation classes, workshops and retreats across the Southwest Florida area. He is an ordained Buddhist monk who has trained under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and other qualified teachers. Chopag began his practice at Kadampa Meditation Center New York, an internationally renowned meditation and retreat center in upstate New York. While in New York, he spent several years learning and practicing the meditative teachings of Buddha. His teachings are light, humorous and practical, and he uses logic and analogies to help others discover the meaning of Buddha’s teachings.
