An empowerment is a special guided meditation which helps ripen our potential for spiritual growth and realization. In this empowerment we have the special opportunity to make a connection with Green Tara, the female Buddha of wisdom and active compassion. By offering praises and requests to Mother Tara, we increase our fearlessness and swift wisdom and come under Tara’s loving care and protection. Her green-colored body symbolizes that she is the fully purified wind element and can respond swiftly to the prayers of those in need.
We all experience fear. Sometimes these fears are manifest and sometimes they are beneath the surface, giving rise to anxiety, feelings of insecurity and vulnerability. Tara is a female Buddha, the embodiment of fearless enlightened wisdom. Tara means ‘liberator’, she possess the power to liberate all beings from fear and suffering.
In lifetime after lifetime, Tara has manifested in female form to demonstrate that enlightenment is attainable for men and women alike. Many people turn to Buddha Tara whenever they need protection from anxiety, fear, or depression. Also known as “liberator from all misfortune”, she is a powerful object of refuge for our troubled world.
