Free Public Talk “Karma- Why Me?”
Friday, November 17th 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Location: Samudrabadra Kadampa Buddhist Center
6338 Presidential Court, Suite 105, Fort Myers, FL (map)
When we experience problems, suffering, dissatisfaction, or unhappiness, where are these experiences coming from? We commonly assume they are coming from outside of us, or that there is something wrong with us. However, these unpleasant experiences are the result of negative karmic imprints in our mind, often from previous lives. Until our negative karma is exhausted, problems will keep appearing in our lives, and we will continue to feel stuck in a cycle of suffering beyond our control. In this half-day course, we will learn how to purify our negative karma before it ripens as painful experiences. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves and others.
This free public talk is open to everyone and is especially suitable for those who are just discovering their interest in meditation practice or who are just getting started. It will include some meditation and practical advice that we can apply to our busy lives. This Free Public Talk will be guided in a light and practical way by Kelsang Chopag, monk and meditation Teacher and will include some time for meditation and discussion.
